New multimodality imaging systems bring together anatomical and molecular information and require the competency and accreditation of individuals from the different specialities involved in Diagnostic Imaging. PET/CT has been the first multimodality imaging technology applied to large patient populations. Clinical applications include staging and re-staging of common cancers, and several cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. High-level training in both nuclear medicine and radiology is a prerequisite for high-quality image interpretation with such hybrid systems. This annual course offers comprehensive lectures by leading experts in the field, as well as hands-on reading workshops in reduced groups. Certification in Special Competence in PET-CT will be provided.
The joint sponsorship by the European Society of Radiology and the European Association of Nuclear Medicine has been granted. |
